Bureau Giacometti at "Architektur & Aktivismus" 2022
Contribution to the poster exhibition of the Bern University of Applied Sciences at the Kornhausform Bern
Bureau Giacometti participated in the Bern University of Applied Sciences’ open call on the topic of ‘architecture and activism’. The call for entries is part of the architecture symposium of the same name at the Kornhausforum Bern, which deals with the social engagement of architects and planners.
For the exhibition, we are designed a poster that shows our working methods in the project at Giacomettistrasse 2 and 4 in Bern. It documents how we act as a mediating and activating force between the owner and the residents in order to incorporate social aspects into the architectural planning process.
The poster illustrates the exchange with the tenants, the translation of their concerns into the planning and the joint development of usage scenarios for the building and communal areas. It is intended as an example of activist practice within architecture that enables participation and strengthens neighbourhoods.
